The LINKED Group conducted a two-day Water Search and Rescue Training on October 25–26, 2025 at Kalumpang Farm Resort, Norzagaray, Bulacan, demonstrating its commitment to disaster preparedness and community resilience. Twelve Emergency Response Team (Reserve) members, mainly from the Security Emergency Assistance and Rescue team, attended the training as part of the group’s Emergency and Disaster Response Program.
The Water Search and Rescue Training forms a key part of the Business Continuity and Resilience Program. It prepares responders for floods, typhoons, and other water-related emergencies. The training became particularly relevant as Super Typhoon Uwan entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, highlighting the need for responders who can act immediately during disasters.
Head Instructor Christian Arevalo and Instructor Roel Vicente from the Philippine National Red Cross facilitated the program. They combined lectures with hands-on exercises covering water survival, rescue equipment, rope and knot techniques, swiftwater rescues, and boat handling.
To enhance operational readiness, the LINKED Group acquired its own 15-man capacity rescue boat. This investment allows the team to mobilize quickly when communities face severe flooding.
Participants practiced teamwork, endurance, and technical skills throughout the exercises. They gained critical knowledge for safe and effective water rescues. The training strengthened LINKED Group’s emergency response capabilities and reaffirmed its mission to save lives and support communities during crises.
