On April 14, 2026, a theft incident involving approximately 20 liters of diesel fuel was reported at the EDC AMACAN AGPP site in Maragusan, Davao de Oro. The fuel was allegedly siphoned from a company-issued Bobcat by an employee assigned to operate the equipment and transferred into plastic containers for unauthorized use.
In response, an entrapment operation was immediately organized under the leadership of AGPP Security Supervisor DC Wendell Pawaon – Silvelrink, with the assistance of SG Victor C. Pedrita and Army personnel PFC Lauria from the North Davao Patrol Base. The operation was conducted in the Bunlang Simsimin area, where the team strategically positioned themselves to monitor the suspect’s movements and confirm the reported activity.
At approximately 12:40 PM, the team witnessed the delivery of the stolen diesel to a private residence within the community. Initial findings revealed that the fuel was intended for resale to a small-scale mining site in Brgy. Tuburan, Maragusan, Davao de Oro. The successful apprehension demonstrated not only the effectiveness of coordinated response efforts but also the importance of vigilance in addressing internal and external security threats.
This incident underscores the importance of proactive security measures, strong collaboration, and disciplined execution in protecting company resources.
