On June 4, 2026, while performing his duties at SSS Calapan, Head Guard Jessie L. Canunigo discovered an unattended cellular phone left in the ticketing section. Recognizing the importance of safeguarding clients’ and visitors’ belongings, he immediately secured the device at the guard post instead of leaving it unattended. His prompt action ensured that the lost item remained safe while waiting for its rightful owner.
Later that afternoon, the cellphone rang, and the caller identified herself as Ms. Perpetua Autor from Baco, Oriental Mindoro. Following established procedures, Head Guard Canunigo carefully verified the ownership of the device and instructed the claimant on the proper retrieval process. The following day, Ms. Autor successfully claimed her cellphone and sincerely thanked the guard for his honesty, professionalism, and dedication.
