At approximately 4:50 PM on May 12, 2026, security personnel conducted their standard inspection of individuals exiting the facility. During the routine security inspection, a contractor employee assigned as a Mechanical Technician was subjected to a thorough exit inspection, where approximately three kilograms of suspected stolen cut copper wrapped in transparent plastic were discovered strapped to both of his legs. The alertness of the security team immediately led to the confiscation of the materials and the proper apprehension of the individual before the company assets could be removed from the premises.
Following the apprehension, security personnel promptly coordinated with the Detachment Commander and Acting Investigator to conduct information validation, evidence collection, and verification of the affected work areas. The suspect and the recovered materials were subsequently turned over to the Kananga Municipal Police Station for proper legal disposition, ensuring that due process was observed while preserving the integrity of the investigation.
